We were really excited back in May when we found this company called findcouch.com. They were the wholesalers for RC Willey and would let us completely customize a four-piece leather set for only $1800. What a steal! We picked out our favorite color of leather, the perfect comfy couch, and even had the seats extended a few inches so that Michael felt comfortable sitting on them. We were told that the couches were made in China and would take a month or so to arrive, sometime around July 4th. Well, July 4th came and went, and after a few more days, I called the company to find out that they had run out of our leather and now the couches were on the boat coming from China and would make it here Friday, August 17th. Three days before we were supposed to move! Michael was mad, but we didn't freak out, and just decided that we would pick them up, all wrapped up with our trailer and move them ourselves.
I called this week to make sure that the couches were on schedule and would make it before we moved. Eddie, a big Samoan guy who sold us the couches, was in the hospital and they had a SLC replacement in the store who told us that our couches weren't on the ship, weren't coming, and actually hadn't even been made yet! We were so annoyed. Maybe a little more than annoyed. They gave us the option to exchange for a set that they had in their SLC warehouse, and said we would have more than 20 sets to choose from. We grabbed our stuff, and drove all the way up there to pick out our new couch set (again). We get up there, and surprise! Only one set to choose from (not 20), and we definitely didn't want it.
The moral of the story is that for anyone who we recommended to use this company, don't! We now have a big trailer with lots of room and no couches. Hopefully we'll get a full refund :( For your enjoyment, I'll post the pic here of what our couches were supposed to look like.
The plan is to finish our open house by tomorrow, and then we'll go down to Parowan for a few days to visit with my family and grandma, and then on Monday, we'll pack up and head out. We get to check in to our new apartment on Tuesday (which has technically been ours for the entire month), and start looking for a job for me! Here's a pic of our new apartment: Actually, I can't find any on my computer, but I'll post them once we move in.
